The J & L Bradley Trophy – Great event, great support and a great fundraiser.

Our thanks and appreciation go to J & L Bradley Heating Engineers, who have been sponsors of our club for more than a decade. The day was warm and dry and eight rinks were set up (the maximum), awaiting the start of play.

The following report was kindly provided by Gary Preston, Gentlemen’s Captain:

“This year’s Bradley Trophy saw a few differences compared to previous years. This year it was a mixed 2-wood triples competition, played with 16 teams instead of the usual 12. This meant that we had four groups of four teams instead of the previous two groups of six teams.

With three games to play in each group instead of five, each game could be played over ten ends instead of five. Comments on the day suggested that this change in format was appreciated by the players but it will be reviewed at the end of the season by the Bowling Group.”
