A MESSAGE FROM AMERICA
Travis McComas, a former member of our club, has sent a very nice message to all HBC members which you can read if you tap the link below:
Many of you will remember Travis but for the newer members amongst us he is an American who was a member for several years. He won the Bill Bentall Trophy in 2019 and was also runner up in the Major Latheron Trophy the same year. Unfortunately, the club’s competitions were then curtailed by the pandemic.
It's great to know he is playing and promoting flat green bowling in America and I’m sure we wish him all the very best in all he does.

YBA Competition
"Mixed Top Club"
Round 1
On Sunday 8th June we had an away trip to North Duffield near Selby. This was a mixed Top Club game of 5 rinks (2-wood singles, 4-wood singles, Pairs, Triples & Fours). Although we lost overall it was a very close and hard fought game. We won in the fours, two rinks went to an extra end, and another only lost on their last end.

Yorkshire: Zone 4, Group C, Round 2
Our congratulations go to Ian Brickley, Tom Bielby and Lee Coutts who won their second round match on Tuesday 3rd June - which went to an extra end!
Thanks also go to the HBC members who turned out to support our team.
They now proceed to the Yorkshire Zone Finals to be played on Sunday 22nd June at home, starting at 12 noon.

"Men’s Fours"
Yorkshire: Zone 4, Group B, Round 1
Our congatulations go to Ian Brickley, Tom Bielby, Lee Coutts and Paul Morton for a first round win on Saturday 24th May. The final score was 18-17.
Round 2 is to be played by Wednesday 18th June.

YBA Competition
Over 65 Men’s Pairs,
Southern Group.
Monday 9th June
Our congratulations go to Richard O’Halloran and Les Bentley who won all three of their Group matches, gaining 6 points.
Our commiserations to Mick Metson and John Russell who were runners up in the same group on 4 points.
Our two teams had a very close match but Richard and Les took it 7-5
The quarter and semi-finals are both to be played at THIRSK on 24th June.

"Men's Top Club"
Yorkshire: Round 1
On the evening of Thursday June 5th, the men were at Holgate playing in the first round of the Men's Top Club. This is the second year running we have met Holgate, on their green. Unfortunately we were well beaten this year but are hoping for a home draw next year.
