All matches were closely fought for the championship titles but one match stood out and made a thrilling finale. The President’s Cup match between Doug McWee and Lee Coutts didn’t start well for Lee and at end six Doug was in the lead eleven shots to nil. Lee fought back and at the 21st end the score was 18 to Doug, 17 to Lee. Eventually, Doug saw his way to the required 21 shots. The bowling was superb and as our President commented:

“Why go to Leamington when you can witness such

superb bowling here at Harrogate”

At the end of both days our President presented cups and trophies to the winners and runner ups.

The winners of the Fleming Cup and the President’s Cup.

The winners of the President’s Cup and the Fleming Cup will now represent the club in the YBA “Champion of Champions" competition in 2024.

My thanks go to everyone involved in the organisation and running of the weekend, with special thanks to our two umpires (one of whom was me!), our markers and scorers and everyone involved in maintaining our green - ably led by Norman Jackson.

I’m sure we are all already looking forward to the 2024 season and the next Finals Weekend."

Best regards,

John D.
