Our congratulations to Ripon Bowling Club for reaching its centenary...

Sunday 2nd July saw two teams of Harrogate players attending the Ripon Spa Gardens Bowling Club Centenary celebrations.
10 teams of 5 players were invited for a one day competition and our teams came 3rd and 6th.
The format was interesting. 5 players per team, with ladies in positions 2 & 4, men in positions 1,3 & 5. Any ladies woods that scored counted double. There were 4 points for a win and 1 point for each winning end, giving 10 points available for each 6 end match.
Ripon provided us all with a very splendid lunch and the whole day was very well organised, with some excellent raffle prizes. Our own centenary is only 9 years away . . better start planning because Ripon has set a very high bar!
