"Ian Brickley (Skip), Lee Coutts (Two) and Tom Bielby (Lead) put on a dominant display against Redcar Borough Park BC, running out convincing 27–6 winners in the semi-final.

The game began with a measured tempo as Harrogate picked up a flurry of singles in the early exchanges, gradually finding their rhythm. As the ends progressed, the trio began to assert control over the pace and pattern of play.

During the first half, Bielby set a solid platform, finding consistency despite a challenging backhand line that troubled the Redcar lead throughout the opening eight ends. Coutts capitalised on the platform, building heads smartly behind the jack, and consistently added pressure with well-placed second bowls.
Brickley was clinical when it mattered, playing several key weighted deliveries — including two decisive jack trails — which converted promising heads into consecutive counts of three. These key moments broke the game open, shifting the scoreboard and the momentum firmly in Harrogate’s favour.
Supporters have a balcony view.

As the match moved into the latter ends, Harrogate’s dominance grew. All three players dovetailed really well, with each contributing at crucial times to maintain pressure and keep Redcar on the back foot. A final flourish saw Harrogate claim a count of five on the last end, sealing the game and forcing an early concession from their opponents.

It was an excellent performance, characterised by tactical control, clinical shot execution, and great team ethic. The result was not in doubt after the halfway mark, with the Harrogate trio meriting their place in the final."

The County final is to be played on Sunday 20th July at York Railway Bowls & Social Club. Start time to be confirmed.
Try and get there if you can. The players really appreciate it and it's great to watch.
OUR TRIO HAS ALSO QUALIFIED TO FIGHT FOR THE BOWLS ENGLAND NATIONAL TITLE AT LEAMINGTON SPA AGAINST SIXTY THREE OTHER CONTENDERS FROM AROUND ENGLAND, STARTING ON 22ND AUGUST. WE WISH THEM EVERY SUCCESS.
